Shipping,delivery and Store Pickup


We use these major carriers to ship our items: UPS, FedEx and USPS. In select areas we may also use these carriers to ship your items: OnTrac, Lone Star Overnight (LSO), Deliv, and Geodis.

Shipping Cost

Shipping cost is calculated on a “per order," “per item" or “per pound" basis and is based on the shipping option you select. We sometimes offer free shipping for specific shipping options in select categories, or free shipping sitewide.

Shipping Timing

You can see each product’s estimated arrival date on the product page and during the checkout process. During checkout, you can choose an estimated arrival date from the options provided. 

Entering your shipping destination ZIP code or allowing to use your current location can result in greater accuracy for your estimated arrival date. Certain products may require additional days to process prior to shipping. This will be reflected in the estimated arrival date. If for some reason you don’t receive your product, you may be eligible for a replacement product if you notify us during your return and exchange time period.

PO boxes:  Please note that based on size, weight or supplier restrictions, some products cannot be shipped to, or may be delayed when shipped to, a PO box address. If you stipulate a PO box as the shipping address for one of these items, you will see a shipping alert in your cart, where alternative options will be provided.

Title to Products

Purchases of product through are subject to a destination contract. This means that the risk of loss and title for these products passes to you upon the carrier’s delivery to your ship-to address, and Best Buy is not responsible for any loss, theft or damage after delivery.

To Change Shipping Information for Future Orders:
  1. Sign in to your account.
  2. From here, you can update, remove or add a shipping address.
Can I ship items in the same order to multiple addresses?

If you order two or more different items, you can choose separate shipping addresses and shipping methods (Standard, Two Day, One Day or Same Day) for each. During checkout, specify the shipping address and method for each item.

If you want to ship multiple quantities of the same item to separate shipping addresses, you’ll need to place separate orders.


Our large, heavy items and Same-Day Delivery items are delivered by Best Buy or one of our delivery partners.

Some items require scheduled delivery due to their size and weight. These items include major appliances, TVs 51" class or larger, and furniture. Confirm in advance that an adult, age 18 or over (19 or over in AL or NE, 21 in Puerto Rico), with a valid government issued photo ID is available during the duration of the appointment.

Delivery Details

    • You’ll get an appointment window for when your order will be delivered on your scheduled date.

    • Includes delivering your product to the room of your choice. Appliances will be unboxed and the packaging will be disposed of. TVs will not be removed from the shipping box.

  • If you need to reschedule for a different day, you can do that online. 

Note: Special order deliveries and fitness equipment will not be delivered beyond the entryway of the home or garage. Some items in your order may be shipped separately.

Special Order Delivery

Special order items are part of our expanded online selection and are not available in Best Buy stores. If your product qualifies for special order delivery, it will be called out within Cart as you are purchasing your product online.

  • An agent will call you in 2–7 business days to schedule your delivery. Please make sure the phone number you provide during checkout is correct so we can properly schedule your delivery date.
  • Delivery timelines may be longer than for non-special order products.
  • Item will be delivered into the entryway of the home or garage only.

What is same-day delivery?

Now you can place an order on and get it delivered the same day. Same-day delivery is available 7 days a week, for both residential and business customers in select areas and ZIP codes.

Holiday delivery times may vary.

How do I place an order for same-day delivery?

Same-day orders can only be placed online at If the products are eligible and you order before 1 p.m. local time, you will see same-day delivery as an option in checkout. If you order after the deadline, you will see tomorrow as an option in checkout.

Who will be delivering my same-day order?

We offer same-day delivery through our delivery partners in select areas across the U.S. We recommend that you are home to receive your order.

What if I am not available when the delivery partner arrives?

    • For residential deliveries, if our delivery partner attempts delivery, but you are not available, and they cannot find a safe place to leave your order, they may try to contact you at the phone number provided during checkout.

  • For business deliveries, someone must be available to receive the order. Our delivery partner may try to contact you at the phone number provided during checkout.

If the delivery is not able to be completed, your order will be returned to the store, and a full refund of your order and shipping costs will be completed within 24 hours of it being returned.

Why are some products not available for same-day delivery?

Most products that are in stock at the store will be available for same-day delivery. Some dimension and weight restrictions apply.

What if I don’t receive my delivery?

Check the tracking link in your shipping confirmation email or log in to your account to check the status of your order.

  • If the product is showing as delivered, be sure our delivery provider didn’t leave the product in a hidden location.
  • If our delivery provider was unable to deliver your order, the tracking link will show Returned Back to Sender. The product will be returned to the store and your payment will be refunded within 24 hours.

Here’s how it works:

  • During checkout, choose Store Pickup and select your store
  • We’ll show you an estimated pickup date
  • Place your order and wait to receive a “Ready for pickup" email (this is a separate email from your order confirmation)
  • Bring your ID, credit card and order number to the store and pick up your items
  • We’ll hold your items at the store for 5 days; if you don’t make it in by then, we’ll cancel the order and refund your method of payment
  • If you can’t pick up your order within 5 days and you don’t want it to be canceled, check your order details for extended pickup options  

Bring to the store:

  1. Your government-issued photo ID
  2. The credit card used for the purchase (if a credit card was used)
  3. Your order number

At the store:

  • Some stores have reserved parking spaces for Store Pickup — they’re right up front
  • Inside, look for the Store Pickup sign at the front of the store, or ask the Blue Shirt at the door to point you in the right direction

Who can pick up your order:

You can pick up your order yourself or choose someone else to pick it up. To have your order picked up by someone else, select that option during checkout. You’ll need to provide the pickup person’s name, email address and phone number. They’ll need to show their ID and the order number at the store.

Only you — or the person you’ve told us will pick up your order — can pick up your items.

To change the person picking up your order, go to your order details and select Make Changes. 


Pre-ordered items will be available for pickup on or after their release date.

Ship to store:

Some items may not be immediately available for pickup at your local store, but can be shipped to your store from a Best Buy warehouse for free. Ship-to-store items usually arrive at the store within 3 to 7 business days. We’ll send you an email when your items are ready for pickup.

Ship-to-store option excludes music, DVDs, video games and other select items.

Warehouse pickup:

Some items, like TVs, refrigerators and other major appliances, may be available for pickup at one of our local warehouses. If this option is available, you’ll see it when you’re selecting a store. Warehouse locations have different days and hours of operation than our stores. Please check the warehouse location’s schedule by using the link in your Pickup Confirmation email or on the Order Details page.

Bring the same items you’d bring for pickup in a store:

    1. Your government-issued photo ID

    1. The credit card used for the purchase (if a credit card was used)

  1. Your order number

At the warehouse, look for a Will Call or Visitor Parking sign. Head inside and someone will be there to help.

Picking up cell phones and mobile devices:

If you’re picking up a cell phone, mobile device or mobile accessory at one of our big-box stores, pick up your order in the Store Pickup area.

We’ll pre-activate your device and provide simple instruction to complete activation. If you need help, we’ll guide you to the cell phone department for additional assistance.

For cell phones and devices with plans, the person named on the contract must be present for pickup.

Store Pickup and our Price Match Guarantee:

If your item is offered at a lower price in the store or at when you pick it up, you may request a price match. Some exclusions apply.

Changing or canceling Store Pickup:

If necessary, you can change or cancel your pickup

Time frames to keep in mind:

  • To switch from Shipping to Store Pickup, let us know within 30 minutes
  • To switch from Store Pickup to Shipping, let us know within 5 days
  • You can cancel a Store Pickup order anytime
  • We’ll hold items at the store for 5 days — if you don’t make it in by then, we’ll automatically cancel the order
  • If you can’t pick up your order within 5 days and you don’t want it to be canceled, check your order details for extended pickup options

A few more things to know:

  • There’s no charge for Store Pickup
  • Products may be larger than expected due to their packaging; please keep this in mind when considering what vehicle you use to pick up your order
  • Allow extra time to pick up large items like TVs and appliances
